One of South Africa’s mainstream media outlets, Business Day, published an article by Ambassador Chen Xiaodong titled “What does China’s Belt & Road Initiative mean for SA?” on November 6. The article’s full text is as follows:

resources and offers promising futures for the emerging energy sector. Chinese companies have a strong technological and research background in energy storage, wind power, and solar photovoltaics.

Four memorandums of understanding covering new energy, electricity, and the green economy were signed following Xi’s August visit to South Africa. That will help with sustainable development and SA’s energy transformation.

In order to improve livelihoods in SA, China is also dedicated to supporting signature projects and “small yet smart” livelihood initiatives. Which they plan to implement 1,000 small-scale livelihood support projects and strengthen collaboration in vocational education across the nation through the Luban Workshops and other programs.

The small-scale livelihood assistance project has received its first shipment of electrical equipment, which has arrived at the port of Durban. And more gear is on its way.

China is prepared to impart to SA their knowledge of reducing poverty. They will aggressively pursue initiatives like the pilot village for poverty alleviation and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) schools.

China will increase cooperation with SA in the areas of agriculture, health, education and training, transportation, electricity, and water resources as part of the Belt & Road initiative in order to help SA create jobs and improve the lives of its citizens.

Dedicated to work together to write a new chapter in both nations’ excellent Belt & Road development, create a high-level China-South Africa community with a shared future, and contribute more to the creation of a global community with a shared future.
